虚無僧は野外で尺八を吹いて施しを受けていた無宿の乞食僧や戦国時代の凄惨な戦の敗残兵等を源流とし、江戸時代に解脱を目指す禅の修行として虚無僧が吹いていた尺八の独唱曲を本曲（ほんきょく）と云う。虚無僧 流水×錆鉢 ユニットが、流浪と敗残の果ての解脱＝究極の自由を、本曲とグルーヴボックスで立ち表す「虚無僧尺八×マシンライブ」の第２弾！
2025年4月21日（月）の19時半位から虚無僧 流水×錆鉢 ユニットが、マシンライブイベント『寂不異音(せきふいおん)』に出演します。『寂不異音』は、モジュラーシンセやグルーヴボックスを中心とした電子系インプロヴィゼーション（即興）イベントで、今回は流水が吹く尺八の本曲に、錆鉢のグルーヴボックスによるサウンドが加わり、虚無僧の敗残と流浪の果ての解脱を、地獄の最果ての自由を立ち表します。是非、お越しください。

Komuso originated from homeless beggar monks who played the shakuhachi outdoors to receive alms, and from soldiers defeated in the brutal wars of the Sengoku period. In the Edo period, komuso played shakuhachi solo pieces as Zen training to achieve enlightenment, called honkyoku. The second “Komuso Shakuhachi x Machine Live” will feature the Komuso Ryusui x Sabihachi Unit expressing the ultimate freedom at the end of wandering and defeat with the shakuhachi and groovebox!
The Komuso Ryusui x Sabibachi Unit will appear at the machine live event “Sekifuion” from around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025. “Sekifuion” is an electronic improvisation event centered around modular synths and grooveboxes. This time, the shakuhachi piece with the sound of Ryusui will be joined by the groovebox sound of a sabihachi, representing the liberation at the end of defeat and wanderings, as well as the freedom at the very end of hell.
