「awai（間）」はモジュラーシンセサイザーとダンス、映像など「異なる領域の表現」を掛け合わせ、即興的な音楽と様々なアートフォームの境界（間）を探るMomose Yasunaga氏主催のライブイベントです。虚無僧流水は、モジュラーアーティストのyamashita syuhei氏と21時30分から虚無僧尺八の有音と無音の間の「awai」を活かしたモジュラーシンセとのコラボ・パフォーマンスを行います。是非、お越しください。

虚無僧尺八奏者。江戸時代に虚無僧が吹いていた尺八と同じ作りの地無し尺八の第一人者の奥田敦也師に師事。
解脱を目指す禅の修行として野外で尺八を吹き喜捨を得ていた虚無僧文化の継承と再興を目指し、新宿、渋谷、下北沢等での古典本曲の辻吹きやモジュラーシンセとのコラボライブ等の活動を行う。

電子音楽家、音響エンジニア、コントラバス奏者。
クラシックオーケストラの経験を元に楽曲を構成させ、DAWとモジュラーシンセを同期させたハイブリッドなシステムを駆使し緻密な空間表現を行う。心地良くも幽然な独自の世界観を構築していくが、眠らせないために結構意地悪な演奏をする。

Komuso Ryusui and yamashita syuhei to Perform at “awai vol.2”
“awai” is a live event series organized by Yasunaga Momose. It explores the boundaries—or the “in-between” spaces (*awai*)—of improvised music and various art forms by combining expressions from distinct fields, such as modular synthesis, dance, and visual art.
Starting at 9:30 PM, Komuso Ryusui will perform a collaborative set with modular artist yamashita syuhei. The performance will leverage the *awai*—the space between sound and silence—inherent in the *komuso* (Zen monk) style of shakuhachi playing, blending it with modular synthesis.

Komuso Shakuhachi Player. He studied under Master Atsuya Okuda, a leading authority on the *jinashi* (natural-bore) shakuhachi—the same type of instrument played by Komuso Monks during the Edo period.
Dedicated to preserving and reviving the *komuso* culture—in which monks played the shakuhachi outdoors to receive alms as part of their Zen training for enlightenment—he engages in activities ranging from street performances of classical *honkyoku* pieces in areas like Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Shimokitazawa to collaborative live shows with modular synthesizers.
yamashita syuhei
Electronic musician, sound engineer, and double bass player.
He composes music drawing on his experience in classical orchestras and creates intricate spatial soundscapes using a hybrid system that synchronizes a DAW with modular synthesizers. While he constructs a unique worldview that is both pleasant and ethereal, he also incorporates “nasty” or mischievous elements into his performance to ensure the audience stays wide awake.
