Komuso Shakuhachi – Blowing the shakuhachi as Zen practice

Abandoning his job, home, and name, the Komuso puts on a canopy, abandons his face, abandons his words, and plays the pieces of honkyoku by unknown composers, becoming the very sound of the shakuhachi that expresses the state of liberation at the end of abandoning everything.

*Honkyoku is the shakuhachi solo pieces played by komuso priest.
